Many of us around the world have watched with great concern as the Israel-Hamas War has continued. All the more so with the indiscriminate attack on civilians by Hamas, including taking many hostages. The war has now raged for a month, with the vast majority of hostages still being held in Gaza. Meanwhile Israeli civilians have had to navigate an increasingly unstable domestic landscape while their friends and family fight.

Ittay Flescher is the Education Director at Kids4Peace Jerusalem, an interfaith movement for Israelis and Palestinians and the Jerusalem Correspondent for Plus61J Media from Australia.
As an insightful analyst of Israeli politics, he has been published in Haaretz, Crikey, ABC Religion and Ethics, Jerusalem Post, Fathom and many other publications and newspapers.
Before moving to Jerusalem in 2018, he was a high school educator in Melbourne for 15 years teaching Australian History, Jewish Studies and Religion and Society.
